Linda Christy
LINDA CHRISTY -- is a 20+ veteran of the advertising industry; earning her BA from Michigan State University. She's the recipient of multiple Addy awards recognizing her work for creative excellence as well as numerous industry awards recognizing her professional contributions to her industry and community.
She is an award-winning copywriter, published columnist and photographer. Most recently, her work has appeared in IndulgeGR in her weekly columns Diving in West Michigan -- where she introduced readers to one-of-a-kind, privately-owned restaurants -- and Nickel Tours -- where her writing and photography allowed readers to travel the backroads of Michigan and discover festivals, restaurants, shops and local color.
Beginning with summer breaks in college, she started to perfect her mixology skills tending bar on Mackinac Island and later at weddings and private parties. This experience has led her to amass a library of recipe and bartending books as well as an impressive collection of antique cocktail shakers spaning the design eras from Art Deco to Contemporary.
She's also an avid traveler; having obtained her first passport when she was 17, she's made it her mission to travel outside the borders of the US at least once a year, and includes "places to visit more than once" as Hong Kong, Bangkok, Patmos and Las Vegas (because everyone needs a dose of decadence many times in their lifetime).
In the past four years, the entrepreneurerial bug has taken hold of Christy; who is the founder of a non-profit that provides business support to emerging artists (www.urbanmatters.org); a marketing firm that specializes in advertising, marketing and communication planning for newly launched businesses (First Blip Marketing, LLC -- firstblip@yahoo.com); and co-founder of a real estate development company specializing on walkable communities built on the philosophies of New Urbanism (www.mezzalunasprings.com).
When Christy's not traveling, throwing parties, running her businesses or writing, she likes to find time to sail, play tennis, attend concerts and read.
